Treasure hunters have been conducting illegal excavations, causing fear and anxiety among the villagers. They have damaged Nandi statues and attempted to steal flagpoles. Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the authorities, no action has been taken. నగునూర్ లో త్రికుట ఆలయం ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ. ఎర్ర బండతో నిర్మించిన ఈ ఆలయం, దక్షిణ భారతంలో ఒక విశేషం. ఆలయం లోపల మూడు శివలింగాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఈ శివలింగాలు శతాబ్దాలుగా చెక్కు చెదరలేదు. ఇటీవల ఒక ఇంటి నిర్మాణం కోసం తవ్వకాలు జరిపినప్పుడు, పురాతన నంది విగ్రహం బయటపడింది. ఈ విగ్రహం పైకి తీయడానికి ప్రయత్నించినా మట్టిలోనే కూరుక్కుపోయింది. అయితే, ఈ పురాతన గ్రామం అధికారుల నిర్లక్ష్యానికి గురవుతోంది. ఆలయాలు, విగ్రహాలు శిథిలావస్థలోకి చేరాయి. గుప్త నిధుల కోసం తవ్వకాలు జరిపి గ్రామస్తులను భయాందోళనలకు గురిచేస్తున్నారు. నంది విగ్రహాలను పగులగొట్టి, ధ్వజస్తంభాలను ఎత్తుకెళ్లే ప్రయత్నాలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఈ విషయాన్ని అధికారుల దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లినా ఫలితం లేదు.
